Overview
High density VXI card for development, simulation and test
Designed for laboratory simulation and production test applications, the Modular Avionics Controller (MAC2) is an intelligent, high-performance C-Size VXI interface supporting ARINC protocols and other serial communications. As an evolutionary follow-on product to the successful VXI-AIC product line, the MAC2-VXI provides a single integrated interface to multiple avionics protocols on VXIbus platforms.
Multiple channel and protocol configurations provide optimum application flexibility
The MAC2-VXI interface supports up to 64 total ARINC 429 channels, 4 ARINC 708 channels, or 24 software programmable RS-232/422/485 channels. Support for ARINC 429 includes maximum data throughput on all channels while providing onboard message scheduling, label filtering, multiple buffering options, receive message time-tagging and error detection, and optional IRIG receiver (AM or DC/TTL) and generator (DC/TTL). A wide range of ARINC 429 receive and transmit channel configurations are available, and can be combined with support for ARINC 573/717, ARINC 708, RS-232/422/485, and Avionics Discrete I/O.
Software tools minimuze integration effort, shorten time to implementation
Abaco Systems' software tools and solutions significantly reduce the time required to integrate ARINC 429 and other avionics protocols into an application. Included with the MAC2-VXI is Abaco Systems' flexible, high-level, API (Application Programming Interface) with support for Windows® 7, 8, 8.1, 10, and VxWorks®. This powerful API supports multiple cards, and is compatible with Abaco Systems' API support for the XVR/XVB SBC products.
