- 64-bit / 66 MHz PMC
- 400 MB/s Full-Duplex Per Channel
- Two Fiber-Optic (LC) or Copper (HSSDC) Ports
- Supports Two Concurrently Operating 2 Gb/s Capable Fibre Channel Nodes
- PCI Dual-Address and Cache Command Support
SBS Technologies(R) (Nasdaq: SBSE), a leading provider of embedded computing technology, today introduced the FC2312 family of 2-Gigabit Fibre Channel host bus adapters (HBAs) that provide space-constrained embedded, real-time networking and storage applications with two independent channels on a single-wide PCI Mezzanine Card (PMC). Each FC2312 channel supports 400 MB/s full-duplex, 200 MB/s half-duplex data transfer rates, and automatically negotiates the Fibre Channel bit rate. FC2312-PMC-FF features two fiber-optic ports that support multimode LC duplex fiber-optic cable. FC2312-PMC-CC provides two copper interfaces via high-speed serial data connectors (HSSDC).
"As embedded system designs become more complex, slot utilization as well as low-latency communications and high-sustained throughput gain importance. By implementing two independent data paths on a PMC, our FC2312 HBAs can support two concurrently operating Fibre Channel nodes while requiring only one PMC site on a processor card or carrier card," said Clarence Peckham, President of the SBS Technologies Commercial and Government Groups.
"We've coupled a comprehensive suite of device drivers for a variety of operating systems and protocols with industry-standard Fibre Channel hardware. This combination supports peer-to-peer communications, offers design flexibility, and facilitates integration," continued Peckham. FC2312 PMCs support PCI dual address cycle and cache commands, and multi-ID aliasing in target mode. The PMCs can simultaneously operate in SCSI initiator and target modes, and can concurrently support SCSI, IP, and VI protocols.
Software Support
Software drivers for Linux, Solaris, Windows NT and Windows 2000 operating systems are shipped with the FC2312 hardware. VxWorks device drivers are provided for MCP750, Pentium, K2 and CT7 platforms. Porting kits are included for PowerPC604, PowerPC403, and Intel X86 platforms.
Price and Availability
List price for FC2312-PMC-FF is $1991 (US); FC2312-PMC-CC is $1591 (US). FC2312-PMC-FF is immediately available. FC2312-PMC-CC will be available late summer 2002.
