SBS Berg Telemetry Systems announces the Model 4428-PCI, a complete CCSDS module for the PCI bus. It features a flexible-programming scheme based on the latest DSP technology to provide uplink and downlink capabilities for the Advanced Orbiting Systems (AOS) format. This single PCI card provides packet demultiplexing with powerful filter controls in downlink mode. When configured for uplink, CCSDS packets are processed into seamless full frame data. Real-time statistics provide the user with detailed link status.

How It Works
The module is configured at startup for either downlink or uplink operations. Data structures containing setup controls and user data are loaded prior to starting operations. This includes on-board Reed-Solomon encoding/decoding interleaving options. Dynamic controls are provided to alter filter characteristics while processing data. A time code reader accepts IRIG A or B formats to provide synchronization with other test equipment.
The Model 4428-PCI has a DMA engine to facilitate high-speed transfers from the on-board 256 Kbyte memory buffer across the PCI bus. Both transmitted and received data can be TTL or RS-422 levels. It can be used with a software driver and API package for Windows? NT systems. This provides a powerful toolkit for use with third party custom user applications.
