The Abaco team had an unexpected opportunity today to spend 30 minutes with Mr Jason Dirna (above, right).  Mr. Dirna is the CMOSS lead for the Army and is intimately familiar with Abaco SBC and RFSoC capabilities.  The Abaco team has briefed Mr Dirna on multiple occasions, ensuring we have the latest information on CMOSS and the Army’s roadmap for CMOSS.

Mr. Dirner is the Architecture Team Lead for the Intel Technology and Architecture Branch within the U.S. Army Communications-Electronics Research, Development and Engineering Center (CERDEC) Intelligence and Information Warfare Directorate (I2WD). He is involved in various open architecture activities and standards bodies including the C4ISR/EW Modular Open Suite of Standards (CMOSS), Vehicular Integration for C4ISR/EW Interoperability (VICTORY), Modular Open RF Architecture (MORA), and Sensor Open System Architecture (SOSA). Mr. Dirner has over 13 years of experience working for the U.S. Army as both a Government civilian and contractor.

It’s clear that CMOSS is here to stay.  The team attended multiple sessions today by General Officers and staff, hammering home that alignment to the CMOSS suite of standards is a requirement for all programs moving forward.

Mr Dirna is excited to see our SBCs demonstrating current applications like EWPMT and sees a broad area where our SBCs can be used as the Army evolves and converges to CMOSS standards, common chassis and open 3U VPX solutions.
